“I hate shaving,” Matty complained, stalking into the kitchen where he slammed open a cabinet and pulled out the blender. “It’s tedious and it just grows back.” Rob was already at the kitchen table eating his breakfast and looking at Facebook on the iPad. He glanced up to judge Matty’s mood and assessed it as definitely lacking in good humor. “So stop. Beards are hip these days.” Matty shot him a withering glance. “I’m a pretty, pretty princess. If anyone in this relationship should grow a beard, it should be you.” “I don’t feel the need to prove my virility with a bunch of fur hanging off my face.” “A beard could be hot. I wouldn’t object.” Matty jerked open the refrigerator and pulled out fresh strawberries, kale, celery, and some creepy vegan yogurt that Rob was not only skeptical of, but, as a former cow and goat farmer, actually offended by. “You’ve almost got one now, anyway.”
