I hate to bring up such a controversal subject but this really bothers me. This is for my Las Vegas friends. Does anyone else feel we are getting F,d on F street. Listening to two people on the talking on the radio talking about how they blocked off the Westside community. I drive past it every day and I get mad everytime. I drive down Bonaza to take my wife to work. There is a street every quarter block all leading into Westside, but there has been this huge uproar about one street. This community is far from being closed off. 14 millon dollors to cut a hole in the freeway and put up a sign saying Historic Westside, right next to a homeless shelter. Well I guess they need a place to sleep, meanwhile we do not have enough funding for are schools. It makes me sick. If you want to write an article and do something for the community why dont you raise money to restore the historic site where the Moulin Rouge used to stand. The homeless people burned it to the ground, walking distance to the new hole in the freeway. There is a sign saying Historic Site and a security guard sitting on a folding chair behind a locked gate whose only job is to make sure there will be no more fires. Restoring this property, now that whould be preserving history, but cant tap the state and the taxpayers for that. I think I will go ask the homeless what they think about the new freeway opening, I think they will find it money well spent.
