I hate what Rice did to his beloved wife. Its appalling and it angers me as it should any human being. I hate that a personal family issue became public and nobody is uttering therapy, healing, or counseling. I hate that the media will posterize another black man as a menace reinforcing racist rhetoric and creating a poster child for something that happens in every family across every race. I hate that the victim (Janay) is being depicted as the dumb gold digging black woman vs a woman who understood for better or for worse and who still loves her husband even though he has issues. I hate that many people will comment on their so-called deep concern for domestic violence but not really offer any transparent or transformative stories or provide links or numbers for organizations for the men and women who currently need help. I hate that the NFL didnt properly investigate and is seemingly responding to the public more than their own standards. I hate that Ferguson wont be talked about anymore now... until it happens again in 6 months. And most of all I hate that few are talking about Jesus ability to save a marriage, heal a mans wound, transform a family, or speak to a nation. And as always..Id love your thoughts.
