I have a certain amount of dread for the future of our country. Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable and hundred if not thousands of Hollywood actors from that generation all felt their duty as Americans, volunteered to serve in our military during WWII. Many fought in combat roles. Some were shot down a few taken prisoner. They as well as many other entertainers and sports figures gave up lucrative careers to serve our country during the war. How many of our current celebrities hate and denigrate our military today? It seems to be a disproportionate amount take ever chance to run our military down as baby killers, thugs, cowards etc. Our current lot of entertainers of all sorts are only concerned about their popularity and feel it beneath their status in society to even give credence to the very need for our military let alone serve. They are the true cowards and dont deserve any praise. They are to arrogant to even see their faults and believe the lies that they perpetrate upon the American public. The vocal minority of their class demand that every day citizens believe everything that they declare as truth and if you disagree with their views they usually blast the supposed offender with profanity laced tirades that only show their ignorance and intransience to other points of view. After they are called out by some of their peers they try to make amends by claiming that they were miss quoted. All theyre doing is lying because their past opinions and statement plus way of life bely their true selves.
