I have a feeling a tutor in one of my subjects is having a go at the Harry Potter series in notes she has written about week 1 that I am now reading.. but Im not actually certain cause she is talking about literary genre versus genre fiction.. and I only just started this week and havent gone to a class yet and dont quite know the difference yet.. I dont want to get angry at this woman for nothing, but Im pretty damn sure it is a criticism, cause they paired it with mills and boon!!! But I swear to god if this class and tutor wants to mess with Harry Potter, Im gonna fry their up themselves, university minded, literary snob attitude so fast they wont have time to blink. Oh and by the way, before the haters start arguing with me, Im not trying to say Harry Potter is the best work of literature- although in my option, it is my favourite book and no other book can make you feel as happy and teach such lovely world and moral sentiments as those novels- but in terms of best literature, I have no idea, because I like reading this for my pure entertainment, and not to use my mind intensely and read something so profound and intellectual so I wouldnt know. HOWEVER, when talking about genre and fiction I dont know how the series can be slammed!
