Please Join the IOYA ( International Oromo Youth Association) Social media campaign to #FreeOromoStudents by doing the following What You Can Do Dear all, As many of you know, Oromo students have been protesting in Oromia, Ethiopia since April and many have been arrested and killed. Oromo communities in the diaspora responded in full force throughout the month of May with worldwide protests. It was an amazing response to the plight of our Oromo youth. From every corner of the world, Oromos marched together for freedom, justice, and equality. Now, the International Oromo Youth Association wants to continue the march: We have recently produced a documentary that includes eye witness accounts of the Ethiopian governments violent crimes against innocent protestors (check link below). And, we are now embarking on a social media campaign titled #FreeOromoStudents. #FreeOromoStudents is not only about freeing our Oromo youth from prison, but for freeing them from the prison that the country is today when it comes to freedom of speech, expression, association, and assembly. IOYAs mission is for this documentary and this campaign to reach as many media organizations, human rights organizations, and world citizens ears as possible. We are being very transparent about this goal because WE NEED YOUR HELP. How you can help: ON FACEBOOK: 1) Post the campaign flier as your profile picture. 2) Post the documentary/article link in your newsfeed and spread the word as much as you can [https://youtube/watch?v=E31gqU_fbpM]] 3) Take a picture with the message Protesting is not a Crime #FreeOromoStudents and post it on your Facebook with the documentary link attached, and then share it with IOYAs Facebook profile (https://facebook/IOYANetwork?ref=br_tf)) 4) Like our page ( https://facebook/IOYANetwork?ref=br_tf) ON TWITTER: Our main hashtag is #FreeOromoStudents 1) Post the documentary and tweet #FreeOromoStudents 2) Tweet tweet tweet as much as you can about this campaign. Please talk to your friends, family, co-workers about this campaign and urge them to watch the documentary and spread it to their networks.
