I have a freedom to say whatever I like. And a responsibility to defend that same right for you. I may not agree with everything or anything you say, but you still have a right to say what you like. Thats what Freedom of Speech is. Im going to offend some people, most of the time... But it need not be at the expense of anyones lives. In South Africa we have a deformation of this very freedom. For instance, if a black guy breaks into my house, and I catch him, tie him up, beat the shit out of him... Thats fine. The cops and security companies do it anyway. But the second I call him a Kaffir I can legally be sued by the dude who broke into my house. Do I approve of how loosely the word is thrown around? No. But its just a word. In the very same breath, if someone calls me a kike, a jew, a yid, a shylock or a throws up a Nazi salute at me, chances are Im going to punch that guy in the face. But thats where it stops. Journalists cannot be timid.
