.I have a little good news. The last Blood Sugar check was 104, they let her have real food and so far so good. The ketones are still large, but closer to moderate~ but with her being able to keep her water down now and 12 hours of being on an IV, we are starting to see the color lighten on the test strip. For those of you who do not understand what I am saying. There is a little strip that is dipped in the urine, the levels are negative-trace-small-moderate-large (with the color starting at a pale peachy color to a dark purplish color. We have been so high that the color was almost black since 1 this morning. They still have her on an insulin drip, high levels of potassium and a saline drip. She is starting to get some color back in her face...and she wanted to get up and brush her teeth. If I get her permission..I will post a few pics (it was nice to get a little chuckle out of us). We are both so tired, and with the every hour on the hour blood sugar checks and vitals...there really is no resting. But, they are taking great care of her at this hospital. We love our doctors and nurse staff here! It is a little disheartening that they recognize us, but after 13 years.....and only 4 hospitalizations, I will not complain too much. So...after all that rambling, we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and although we would like to have seen a smaller ketones, we are thankful for each little step. I have been reading your comments to her and she is amazed at all the love and support! Between my friends and family here and our little Chicken group I posted on earlier, I feel the love and prayers! Thank you to all of you!
