I have a new pet! Prescott spotted a turtle in the middle of our street and asked me if I wanted it. I, of course, said Yes!. I believe it is a boy painted turtle. Boys have rounded backs and girls have flatter backs for obvious reasons. We put it in the middle of the back yard and it immediately headed for the corner where the raised beds are, and water, stopping and investigating along the way. I hope he will be very happy -- he can probably escape under the back gate if he decides to wander on.
