I have a prediction to make. Tonight, President Obama is going to stand up before the American people, tell them that Congress failed to act, and that he must do so on his own. His way, or the highway. That is not how a representative republic functions. That is how a monarchy or dictatorship functions. But whos going to notice? I mean, between our regularly scheduled programs, which celebrity is gay, which actress had her nekkid pictures stolen, a sensationalized media, etc., who is going to notice? With all that there is to do in our lives, who is going to do anything? Between raising kids, long days at work, cleaning the house, grocery shopping, preparing for Thanksgiving, and generally living our lives, who is going to do anything? For months, weeks, and days, our elected leaders have been warning us. Who noticed? Who did anything? I mean, these people that we spend this time chastising and berating on social media are crying out to use to raise our voices, and were all filled with an abundance of silence. Who is going to say something? Do something? Or even take notice? My prediction.... This whole thing falls on deaf ears. Despite the elections just a couple of weeks ago, the silence of each of us will render the newly elected people impotent against the power that is being amassed by the president. Well pass over this day. Thanksgiving will come and go. Our lives will go on down the road, but to what peril? Are we willing to let go of our republic because we could not take the time to pay attention and simply say something? If we do nothing now, it only gets worse later....
