I have a problem...We live in a society on the upswing of history. We have advanced more in the last 200yrs than at any other time in history and that is unlikely to change. And change is what i have a problem with. Change is probably the only constant in the universe, yet so many of us are not only ignorant of that fact, we are actually resistant to it. Why is it in a society more interconnected than ever, more realtime than ever, are we so full of hate, repression, and fear than ever? Why is it so UNCOOL to be smart? UNCOOL to help one another? UNCOOL to come together for the betterment of the human race? In a world so full of religious people you would think they would actually practice what they preach, instead of wearing it on their sleeves until it doesnt suit them. But i overstep, this isnt about religion, its about the billions of people on this planet who have one thing in common...were all human and change is inevitable, and as history shows us in hindsight, 99% positive. Dont you think its time to shrug off the cloak of biggotry, of hate, of petty selfishness and start a policy of selflessness, accomodation, and create a place where learning is cool, being smart is envied and striven to be attained, where you see others in need and actually help them instead of saying, "not my problem"? I almost cant watch the news anymore...kids disappearing every other hour, hundreds of people shot down in broad daylight, and more and more just plain IDIOCY and REPRESSION for the only good reason that YOURE AN ASSHOLE. I can only hope in a 100 years were still here, but even more so that they dont look back in history on US, for im ashamed to be a part of US as we currently are...
