I have a question I am needing help on. I recently went to a doc and was prescribed daily shots of methyl folate, methyl b12 and p5p. Dr said that they want to literally flood my cells with this. They also ordered Leucovorin to deal with the antibody preventing absorption of Folate. I ordered the shots but am still really, really nervous about taking them. I compound hetero for Mthfr and also have COMT homozygous along with vdr/taq homozygous. I am terribly concerned about having problems when I try to take this combination because of excess methyl donors. Am I worrying for nothing? Methylfolate causes severe emotional trauma when I try to take it orally. I do have an elevated folic acid level (twice the norm) and elevated b12, which I was told means I am not getting either into my cells. Why will a shot help this or will it? Any and all help is much appreciated.
