I have a question for you. Recently God has been showing me things in the bible that are hard to reckon - hard to make sense of. Things I am labeling as beautiful tension. Things like how can God be just AND merciful at the same time? Truthful AND full of Love. How are we saved by grace AND yet still need to obey His commands? How do we stand in awe of a Holy God and still revel in the fact that we can, as His children, sit in His lap? Two things that seem opposite yet are perfectly God. Is this making sense? We tend to, as swing our pendulum to one side or the other. Where God is both/and. Right in the middle. Truth and love. Justice and mercy. Grace and obedience. Holy God and our closest friend. What things have you noticed are hard to make sense of?
