I have a scenario that I wish to share with you all……….Some of you will know about this whilst many wont. The reason I wish to share it with my FB friends is to garner your views. So here goes: In 2005 I had a child-minder for my then five year old son. I cared for her deeply and trusted her implicitly with my son as well as her husband who was always very kind and caring where my son was concerned. Her name at the time was Shelly England ( now Shely HARRIS) I was extremely busy with my career and depended on her greatly, I had other childcare centres that my son attended. One afternoon i went to collect my son from school ( Shelly also worked at the school as a dinner lady) they had all been out on a day outing with school. As I approached the school doors two parents approached me and stated that they had witnessed Shelly England call all the parents around her and whilst my sons back was to her she grabbed his neck pulling him backwards and pulled out his size tag she then said look at the size of this fat B******d having a good laugh with the parents whilst doing so. Needless to say i felt the world pulled from under me and I basically collapsed. I confronted her, she admitted it but said it wasnt just her. After this she spent an enormous amount of energy creating rumours that attempted to put me in a bad light and attempted three times to attack me, unfortunately for me the third time she succeeded and i was put in hospital after being punched and kicked to the back of my head and neck area approximately forty times (I still bare a large lump at the top of my spine) for this, she received a police caution. Shortly afterwards she moved her mother into a house directly opposite my home and Shelly would daily arrive after parking outside my house. Her mother continuossly spread selacious gossip about me for example a chap came to buy my jeep off of me and a friend of mine stated that Caroline had told all the neighbours that this was another guy I was s*******. As a proud mother this offended me deeply. Everytime I left my home the curtains would twitter. I ended up having both Shelly and her mother, Caroline, issued with harrasment warnings. seven years of this wore me down but I tried to move on. However, my son who had started at Secondary school came home one day to inform me that Shelly England (Harris) was now a teacher assistant at his secondary school and had taken his class as a teacher. Needless to say I lost it, I was furious. The headmistress attempted to re-assure me that she would bar Shelly from my sons year but this did not stop her approaching him and his friends and smirking at my son when she passed him in the hallway. Shelly gained the support of a Mrs M Mackie and in the end I had no choce but to move my son to another school. I fear that this Shelly England may indeed turn up one day at this new school. My question to you all is; should someone who has been given a police caution for assault be allowed to teach children. Also if this had happened to you what would you have done. I have since had to move as the daily pressure of living there proved to affect me on many levels. There is an article in the paper it doesnt however highlight the true impact of events. Bullying can happen to anyone at any age and I am proof of this. Thanks guys for reading this and I would love to hear your comments xx
