I have a student that dresses poorly. He wears the same filthy pair of khakis no less than 3 times a week and his t shirts are dirty too. I asked my AP would it be a conflict of interest if I could give the student some of my clothes if he wanted it. AP said it would be great, and the kid wanted them too. Ok so this morning Id normally sing The Carpenters song Rainy days on Monday always gets me down, but not today. Im feeling real good about myself and excited to see this kids face when I break him off with about 8 pairs of jeans and a shitload of t shirts. Ok so after class was over I pulled the kid to the side and gave him a Hefty bag full of gear. Im not gonna lie, I had that Christmas its better to give mindset... UNTIL!!! ... Bust how he said YOU DONT HAVE ANY TRUE RELIGION JEANS IN HERE? With a straight face. WTF? No THANKS, or at least a GOOD LOOKING OUT, just you dont have any True Religion jeans in here? 1st of all he wears filthy Dockers 3 times a week, he should be grateful for any 8 pairs of clean pants. REAL TALK... I snatched the clothes back and them back in the bag then locked it in my closet. I told him hes gonna learn how to be grateful AND how to say Thank You when someone does something nice for you. Im still gonna give the clothes but Im gonna let him sweat it out a day or 2. Being poor is not an excuse for not having good manners. NOW IM IN A FOUL MOOD
