I have a technical question for Internet savvy persons: We are currently paying for 14 mbps of internet through satellite service. Since we rarely get that (most weekends we get 2-3, weekdays are better, and the internet is constantly going out) and our provider (AWI) has refused to show up to troubleshoot for three consecutive appointments, and refuses to return our calls, we are looking elsewhere. Centurylink claims that the 3 mbps they can offer us will be better than the 14 mbps we were supposed to be getting, since we will be on a dedicated phone line, whereas we were sharing internet on the satellite system. Is this information accurate? Does anybody know for certain? I would give it a try, but we have to sign a one year contract, and I dont want to be stuck with something worse.
