I have a weird dilemma for our upcoming trip. Were going to be in Europe during the winter/early spring, and based on all of my weather research, it looks like were going to hit a lot of similar weather to what we get here in the Lower Mainland - temps between about 3-15 degrees Celsius (sorry, US friends, I dont know how to convert that for you, but basically a little above freezing up to cool/mild spring weather), and well hit a decent amount of rain as well. Heres the dilemma - I wanted to bring two pairs of shoes for each kiddo. One runners, one rubber boots. The problem is that their winter clothes, fleeces, layers, etc. are so much bulkier than packing summer clothing that I cant make enough space in their bags for an extra pair of large shoes (and I cant make them carry larger bags without risking them being too heavy for them). Im trying to come up with some sort of easier-to-pack work around solution so that we can just bring runners, but with something to waterproof them on rainy days as well. One idea I had was gaiters (like these shop.getoutwiththekids.co.uk/shop/vaude-kids-gaiters/), but theyre a bit expensive and its hard to find ones that fit childrens shoes well and that I can buy locally. Another idea was something like these galoshes that go over shoes to turn them into boots (but again, pricey at $25 per kid, which feels hard to spend when I can get them each brand new boots for just $10-$15 each). Thoughts or ideas for me? amazon/Cecilia-Undercover-OMGaloshes-Boots-Cover/dp/B00J2BB27S/ref=sr_1_4?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1420951462&sr=1-4&keywords=kids+boot+cover
