I have acute colitis, and stomach ulcers and recently put myself on a yogurt regimen, eating 4 servings of yogurt a day in addition to other bland foods. Because I am lactose intolerant and can not handle many dairy products, but because yogurt has acidophilus in it, I decided that I would use it to heal my ulcers. The added benefit is that it also has relieved the symptoms of my colitis too. Then I just read this and find out that I actually stumbled on something that might make such a big difference in my life and make my life so much better. Please take a look at these benefits of adding yogurt as a regular item in your diet. This just hits the highlights of the article. It is worth reading the entire thing and inspires me to research it further. 1. Strong Bones: This is a no-brainer. Weight Loss: Helps reduce belly fat. 4: Cures Yeast Infection: The good bacteria in yogurt battles the overgrowth of yeast that causes yeast infections. 5. Lowers Blood Pressure: High in potassium which aids in lowering blood pressure 6. Colon Health: The same good bacteria that aids in curing yeast infection also battles the bad bacteria in the colon that causes colitis. It also stops bile from converting to carcinogenic acid and protects the colon from a variety of diseases including colon cancer. The calcium in yogurt also is beneficial in helping to reduce colorectal cancer by as much as 75%. 7. Good for the Digestive System: Aids in food digestion, treatment for constipation and diarrhea and pylori infection. Lactose intolerant people can eat yogurt because it is high in Acropolis. 8. So unless something happens to cause me to not be able to eat yogurt, it will be a daily addition to my diet from now on. Even though I am a diabetic, I can arrange my intake to allow for this addition. humannhealth/10-health-benefits-of-yogurt/106/
