I have already touched upon the Winston Reid saga and his response - TopicsExpress

I have already touched upon the Winston Reid saga and his response to lazy tabloid journalism stating clearly he has never stated he wanted to join Arsenal. Of course we are well aware of tabloid mischief making and the fabrication of stories in order to sell more copies of these News papers. It has been of course reported that Alpari have gone down the tubes but unlike the XL Holiday scenario the club is in a healthy financial situation and the club are already in talks with 3 (as yet unnamed) potential suitors. Reports that The Hammers would take the field v Hull with no sponsor logo on the shirt was proved wide of the mark. West Ham are at this time having our best spell for quite some time and it has not escaped our notice at Anglo Towers that a hint of jealousy is around and this coupled with TV pundits failing to recognise how well the club has progressed this term, (not unlike the superb form shown by Southampton which also has dipped under the media radar!). It seems even an out of form Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs etc still command the headlines (with the exception of Spurs in the mainstream) So outside of Chelsea, Man.Utd and City.Arsenal and of course Liverpool the TV pundits seem immune to what is going on outside these 5 clubs and look at the pundits themselves as pundit land is choked with ex Liverpool (we have had Hansen and Lawrenson) Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher and of course The Neville brothers (although some sense talked there) Of course you can point to Robbie Savage Alan Shearer, Lee Dixon but all still roll out the same old, same old week in and out. Maybe The Hammers dipping under the radar is not a bad thing and our up coming opponents content themselves with a lazy attitude oh well its only West Ham will be their downfall underestimating what an improved unit we are! it is as well to note that whilst looking for new sponsorship and morale boosting investment the board will be beavering away behind the scenes to help secure the clubs long term future and hopefully a run of success which will lead to an ever improving squad leading to some silverware and European football. It would also be good to see a rejuvenated Academy set up and more youngsters emulating the Moores, Brookings and Mark Nobles. A club which is a part of the community as the community is part of the club and maybe that is what the pundits and journalists are afraid of. SC
