I have always doubted reports of well poisoning and household spraying by unscrupulous individuals for money. Some media reports have even gone as far as referencing confessions from culprits arrested in the act. My doubts have been hinged on motive.. What would someone gain by contaminating wells with harmful chemicals that kills unsuspecting users? Who stands to benefit in this case? Well, the foundation of my doubt was shattered last night when group of men invaded the home of one of my nieghbors, Mr. Dorsla, and tried to spray unknown chemicals through his windows. Luckily for Mr. Dorsla and his household, he was alert when the group of chemical assailants started spraying his windows. By the time he had alerted everyone in his home to the intrusion, the smell of chemicals was already overcoming them. According to Mr. Dorsla, the assailants fled when he and family started raising alarm for the community to come to their aid. Surprisingly, two other households were invaded two weeks ago by unknown persons attempting to spray chemicals through their windows in the thick of the night. These strange happenings come against the backdrop of rumors that government is contemplating quarantining the Banjor-Virginia belt. When I visited Mr. Dorsla this morning to offer words of sympathy, an aura of uncertainty pervaded his household. We all have to be on the alert, as this thing will not stop until the people achieve their goal, Mr. Dorsla intimated, while holding his two-year old grandchild. Still, I am left wondering, what is the motive?
