I have always said that traffic is bound to get worse but there are immediate solutions both the local governments and all of us can do. My first advise is just to keep cool on the wheels, have extra patience, drive defensively and more importantly, observe utmost courtesy on the road. Many a gridlock is caused simply by cars jostling on intersections and completely blocking the traffic flow. We must all do these as traffic enforcers are a rare commodity in the smaller intersections. The other quick fix is for the LGUs to strictly enforce the no parking rule on major city thoroughfares which are good alternate routes. These routes can relieve the traffic on the main roads. Double parking madness should also be addressed.
