I have an idea of how the world can eventually be rid of extremism like that displayed in Nigeria and Paris last week. Its called: Empowerment of Muslim women. I know some remarkable women, who happen to be Muslim: Markie Hayden, Fatima Ademoh, Sana Amin, Aidora Mubarak...and I would say its nigh on impossible for their children or nieces and nephews to even think about becoming terrorists. Can women be that influential? Consider this... In the Bible and Quran is the story of creation and mans expulsion from Paradise. Adam was commanded by God, tempted by the Devil yet only did what Eve suggested. I think that if Muslim women are given better access to education and a chance to challenge those ancient ideologies, they will raise children who no longer identify with it. This is a new spin on a popular quote: Give a man a fish, he has food for a day. Teach him how to fish, he has food for life. If you teach women how to fish, you feed a generation for life. Instead of war on terror and singing cumbaya, work on educating and empowering Muslim women.
