I have an opportunity to put in some vents near my stove to feed - TopicsExpress

I have an opportunity to put in some vents near my stove to feed the voracious ventahood that has 4 motors. as we seal up the envelope of the house toward a zero net (hopefully) future, we are challenged by the shear volume of air ventilation that our gas stove requires. its not so bad in the summer when the windows are open and added circulation is welcome, but in the winter, it draws cold air in and pumps warm air out. any suggestions on a solution to this type of issue in a super insulated house. Im contemplating adding two vents to ceiling, one on either end of the stove, above the stove, to allow cool air to flow down when the stove hood is on, air that would then get immediately exhausted up through the ventahood. any suggestions on whether this would be a good idea or types of reverse louvered vents would be much appreciated.
