Good news for Ecole Fairview students and parents. But what about the problem with the Sydenham-Pearl brownfield in the Victoria School area that the parents group brought up? The city, the school board, neighbourhood residents and businesses are all direct stakeholders, but what has happened is that the new temporary french immersion location has changed. Note that the city says remediation will begin in the spring. This, of course, promised for after we elect yet another city council. How many times should we elect people who will solve problems after the next election? Same goes for the french immersion programs. Here we are, heading towards an election in October, when incumbent trustees are likely to ask you to re-elect them so they can fix things up, next time. Because, hey, look how great all our elected representatives are doing so far.
