I have been a firm supporter of German football team since 1990. I had no doubt in my mind that the German team of 1990 will remain a model of how methodical preparedness and mental strength can build a world beating team, even when your bench of talents is not very deep. I supported the German team over the years but I also recognized that their methodical playing was getting tiresome to watch during 1995-05 period and they were being superseded by better teams. I was overjoyed to see France win in 1998 because of the outstanding talent of Zidane. I was not very disappointed when Germany lost to Brazil in 2002 Final because I thought they lost to a superior team and talents. I became very happy when Jurgen Klinsmann totally revamped German football play and mixed method with adventurousness. This was combining best of both worlds. I was sorry to see Germany losing to Italy in 2006 but my heart was broken when Zidane failed to score in the final. Just before the famous headbutt Zidane had a header that hit the goal post. If that ball went in then Zidane would have joined Pele and Maradona in the top most place in the Football hall of fame. I was not also disappointed when Germany lost to Spain in 2010. Spain clearly was the outstanding team of the world from 2008 to 2012 when they won two Euro and one World Cup. In the end, you always hope that the best team in the world win the world cup. Football world cup is the biggest and most widely participated global human extravaganza, so a fair, enjoyable world cup tournament is good for humanity. The current Argentinian team is very good. They have Messi and the team has improved with every game since beginning. They are surely much superior to the 1990 team. May the better team win the 2014 Final.
