I have been accused of having a marijuana agenda, and youre right I do, but first lets define marijuana. Marijuana falls into 3 Categories Street Weed, Medical and Recreational. My agenda concerns recreational marijuana which is legal in Florence, Fremont County and Colorado. Problem is the big carrot that was held out by the coalition that put together proposition 64 which is money is being ignored by the city of Florence. The numbers are starting to come in, and those areas that have taken advantage of the sales tax revenue from recreational marijuana are raking it in. There is no city income from Street weed, and very little from Medical Marijuana, because it is taxed. There is a lot of money coming into those areas that have allowed the sales of Recreational Marijuana. Thank you Paul, Mel, Tony, and Svetlana, who did not do your homework, and left Florence in a position of scrambling for funds to repair the railroad crossings that pass through our town. Which brings us back to our old friend money. Canon City will be voting on this important issue in november, and believe me it is about money. A lot of money. Do your homework. Street weed and Medical will be around along with the problems with some the grow operations in Penrose, and the medical grey areas being addressed by the state. A yes vote on recreational marijuana will bring some much needed cash to Canyon city.
