I have been challenged to do the Ice Bucket challenge. Although im perfectly fine with having ice water dumped over my head (preferably in mid-summer or during a hot-flash), the reason behind this particular challenge makes no sense to me! The challenge is this- donate 100.00 to ALS research or dump a bucket of ice water on my head and film it, them post it on FB. One, I dont have 100.00. If I did, I would be buying my daughter some desperately needed school clothes, since she popped out of everything she owns over the summer- growth spurts and teens...Ugh. Two, I dont have a camera, or a camera phone to document the event. So why douse myself and look silly when no one is watching? Humorists LIKE an audience, thank you very much. If I had it to spare, I would still do some research before donating, not just because someone dared me. BUT, if people are willing to donate to something, maybe I can offer this: I will happily douse myself with a bucket of water (a bucket holds about two gallons btw) for EVERY donation made of 100.00 or more to any food bank, rec center, animal shelter, or people shelter in the Philadelphia area. If enough is donated to fill an above ground pool, I will jump in. If enough is donated to fill an inground pool, I will dive or water slide in (if the pool isnt deep enough to dive). If enough is donated to fill that pool more than once, I will do a lap for each pool filling. I will even offer to dress as silly as you like, as long as it passes lifeguard safety standards and covers the trunk of my body (lets be reasonable here folks, Im a big lady, and aint NO ONE wants to see all God gave me!) So...whos up for MY challenge?? And dont forget- we need someone with a camera to record this!
