I have been debating whether or not to post anything about this but I would rather set the record straight than have more people mislead by this woman or by media that is not accurately reporting things about how our church operates. As a woman in the Mormon church I have never ONCE felt like my voice wasnt heard. In fact I think its quite the opposite. More often times than not the men of the church ask the women for help! I have never once felt like women are not treated as equals. In fact the men talk all the time about how it is so obvious that the women in the church are by far more spiritual than them and that when push comes to shove and something needs to get done they ask a woman. Also, if this woman and her followers truly believe that our church is true then they would have an understanding that the apostles and prophets are the mouthpiece of God. Every decision they make regarding the church is from God. So even though she is lobbying for women to get the priesthood the decision is not up to the leaders of our church. Its up to God. So she needs to be lobbying to God in her prayers about this matter. That right there tells me that she doesnt truly understand how revelation works in our church. Even though I dont agree with what she is doing I do sympathize with her right now to some degree. I dont hate her or have any ill feelings against her. It definitely would be heart breaking to experience what she is going through right now and I will pray for her and the others involved that they will feel the comfort of The Lord during this time.
