I have been doing some reading and bible study today and there has been a deep conversation on one of my mom groups. I would really be interested in hearing some opinions or input from my Christian friends/religious friends. In working with or giving to others....I look at biblically we should give and share openly (not speaking of tithes) and the Lord gives back sevenfold...we care or look at all as being Gods people....that being said how can you selectively give? How does an entity or organization in good faith say amongst themselves well we cannot help this person because they have a drug/alchohol/gambling addiction etc etc? A hungry person in my mind/heart is hungry...is it not judging to say well you went and blew your paycheck on alchohol etc.? Are we all not sinners? I understand enabling someone....you would not gv a person with a gambling addiction say money.....but how could you turn them way for food, or clothing, or help their child? Is this not an opportunity to try and offer resources/ministry versus sending them away? What scripture states you are supposed to only selectively give? Isnt that up to God?
