I have been educating children in my local schools and in my community about fire safety for many years. Since the age of 6, I would work with the local fire departments and help children explore the fire-safe house, teach children to call 9ll and to never play with fire. Throughout the years, as Ive matured, besides continuing to educate elementary children about fire safety, I have volunteered to register families so that they can be notified in the event of an emergency, helped with evacuation drills and I have filmed public service announcements educating my community about being fire safe. The last PSA I filmed allowed me to use my sign language skills to reach out to the deaf community in the event of an emergency. Educating my community about safety is very dear to my heart.
