I have been following the confrontation between LV schools and the Freedom From Religion Foundation, and I think the least thing that such an organization has to worry about is anyone being proselytized and converted to Christianity in our public schools. I went through 12 years of public school life and I was never threatened with the horrid acts of sharing the gospel or being forced to pray, beyond saying the word God in the Pledge of Allegiance. I did not learn anything about Jesus, sat completely lost to the Biblical references in Classic Literature, and not once, even once, felt threatened or overwhelmed with religious fervor. I had no more clue about Jesus than the man in the moon with my public school education and growing up in a non-religious home. And we even had a religious principal at Lincoln, Mr. Waller. And Im pretty sure that things are not dramatically different today. Im pretty sure my kids, who are raised in church, are getting absolutely no religious instruction. They are learning what I learned, with different delivery methods and tools, and I know they are not receiving Christian instruction or being threatened with such horrific acts as having someone talk to them about Jesus, God, or any other deity (other than their favorite trinity, me, myself and I) or being threatened with teachers leading prayer. They are getting that good old heathen teaching that I grew up with. So sleep well, FFRF, the schools are not teaching our kids morality in any shape or form.
