I have been having some good discourse on the current state of affairs with some dear ones in my life concerning re-integration of men into our community from the justice system; it appears John Howard Society is not fullfilling their apparent intent. So, with all my political stewings, I have come to realize that it took 4 generations of christians to reach the peak to become the majority party at the federal level (Progressive Conservative) and 2 generation of the New Democratic Party to become a Provincial majority in our Province of Manitoba. At the federal level most christians came here post reformation with the Martin Luther reformation to escape the bonds of Catholism. Anyways, they have become a majority by adhering to their cultural traditions and families. So, with the residue of post colonial shock, it comes back to us within our traditional families and clans that we can find our strength until our communities choose to be non exclusive of teaching others through the services or intiatives of individuals. I have been doing advocacy in the community for some years and have chose to be selfish to get an education to be able to be a provider or supporter of future non profit initiatives. One of them being to establish a mens shelter or re-integration housing program, because our men are being left behind. This does not sit well with me based on the statistical facts of what it takes to keep a prisoner incarcerated as opposed to create a stable secure springboard for successful re-integration. We need to educate our children and raise them within our traditional ways so that when our prisoners are free and our children in the system come out and scan their eyes for a safe place to grow and be strong contributing individuals, we will be there lighting the way in our strength of teachings of our Good way of life. I know I can be a hater of some issues others, it is because I have been greatly affected by some peoples behaviours in just making good choices for myself or so I thought, with that said, I will be free, getting my education whole heatedly to be there, doing my part in creating non governmental organizations that are funded by the people. I will also look forward to kicking the barriers that are keeping our people down with colonial policies within our own community. So, if you see hi, remember we all need strong people. I also choose to avoid certain people from past hurts as to keep the love for my people strong and to protect others including my self from the trap of others distractions from the advancement of our peoples.
