I have been hired by the Friends of the park to manage the kite festival along with the committee in Herman Park. The event is the last Saturday of the month, March 29th. The kids flying area will be on the top of the hill on the lawn that is normally used for seating near the stage. The hill will be used for Parachute races and with any luck at all the larger kites will be flown in the clearing near the base of the hill. They have been putting a lot of work into the park to finish some of the plans from 100 years ago. Several major changes will happen this year and overall the park will offer easier parking and more this to do. The train and zoo along with the formal gardens are just a few of the things to see.
