I have been meaning to inform everyone of the happenings from last friday morning. My father passed away around 4:30-5:00 a.m. I was the last person he talked to, and thankfully it was to say goodnight, and that I loved him. I remember feeling something you could describe as a hug while I was sleeping. It woke me gently. I finally woke up several hours later to find him. Retrospectively, I believe it was him as he was passing, giving me his last goodbye. I am grateful for our last day we had together. We spent it on the plaza, shopping, eating, and just talking about silly things. Time seemed to stand still. For those who may not know, this was great for me, as he has been in and out of the hospital for several months. We finally thought he was getting better. The worst part I had to get over, is the idea that I didnt wake up, and he died alone. Three occasions before, I had awakened from a deep slumber, to find him in need of medical assistance. I was able to save him. This time I didnt wake. I felt horrible. I finally realized it was for a reason; It was time. He no longer has to suffer, and once again can be with Steve. Everyone reading this, please remember time is finite. Never take for granted your family, friends, and your time. I ended on good terms, and I will be forever grateful.
