I have been meaning to post a Baddie update for a while, its been a little over 5 months since we brought Nogbad The Bad (previously known as Buster) home with us from Greyhound Gap. From day 1 he has not put a paw wrong and has been an absolute joy. Day by day little bits of his personality emerged, and although hes been happy and settled I think hes been a little undecided whether or not this was all real and this was his new life - maybe thats me over thinking it but there just seems to have been a point where something clicked and a different more confident and happy dog emerged. Thats not to say he wasnt happy before but he wasnt the windmilling waggy tailed vocal boing monster he is these days about going walkies - or if you even so much as move his lead and he hears it lol Hes got his favourite places to sleep and boyyyy does this dog sleep! But he no longer thinks that he has to stay in his bed he can actually CHOOSE where he wants to sleep, funnily enough despite the fact he is welcome to choose one of the beds or the sofa he seems to prefer being on the floor either on his big bed in the lounge or on the soft bedroom carpet stretched out with his back against the bed and he really does love to strrrrettttch out completely filling the space. He happily goes outside without one of us being with him and suns himself, he doesnt stay out long but is content to wander in and out as takes his fancy and do his regular boundary patrols sniffing out all those wonderful scents and hes even been known to have a shout at a pesky cat now and again. He still isnt interested in toys of any kind and I dont think he ever will be, he lay and watched my sons little dog Bruno hairing back and forth chasing a ball last weekend and simply yawned and went back to sleep. Hes the perfect gentleman with everyone he meets although they are all expected to supply endless ear rubs and neck scritches. He doesnt counter surf although he has been known to help himself to his bed time chew if he thinks were taking too long getting ready for bed after all it is HIS bed time snack. He has his routines and woe betide you if you dont follow them, he is very stubborn and will simply stand and look at you with the occasional huff or sigh until you give in and do what you are supposed to be doing - usually this means he wants his breakfast or dinner or hes been to toilet and wants his gravy bone reward - believe me you know hes behind you just looking at you and there is NO ignoring it. He loves his evening game of poke me with Rob and has us in fits of giggles with his playfulness - theres is no doubt what so ever that he is hugely enjoying himself and its pure joy to watch how cheeky he is. Youd swear he has a real sense of humour! I love the big grin on his face & the gleam in his eyes, I love that hes started to talk to me with funny little sounds and mumbles and I love that Nog has whispered in his ear and told him that if mum says in a minute when shes on the computer to slip his head under her elbow and nudge and her hand will fly off the mouse to land perfectly on his head - a lesson he has learned well *laughs* and most of all I love his full on waggy tail when you tell him hes a good boy or just say his name, he is such a HUGE character and we love him to bits.
