I have been organizing equipment that we need for our Open Mic night debut next week. I have seen inexcusable failures on stage due to poor preparation. Spares have been identified, leads have been color-coded. A check-list has been compiled and a stage plot drawn. My experience at a very large blues festival has given me the right skills and mindset to mitigate those technical hitches. Prior preparation and planning prevents pathetic performance. Need I mention dress-rehearsals. Professionals would never attempt a performance without at least one.
