‘I have been punished for raising public issues’ DAK president Dr Nisar suspended from service =>The government Monday ordered the suspension of president, Doctors Association Kashmir, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan citing that the senior medico spent more than 48 hours in police custody besides facing an FIR in police station Karanagar. According to the order, in terms of sub rule (2) of Rule 31 of JK Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956: “Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan Malik, Assistant Professor, (Medicine), Government Medical College Srinagar shall be deemed to have been suspended from May 19, 2014, for his detention in police custody for more than 48 hours in case FIR number 15/2014 in police station Karanagar, Srinagar.” Expressing shock over his suspension, Dr Nisar said the order came to him as a big surprise. “The decision is unjustified. I have been punished for raising public issues, he said. Minister for Medical Education, Taj Mohiudin, said government will have a re look on the order. “We will address the issue,” the minister said. DAK threatened agitation if the order is not revoked.
