I have been raised that when God does something tremendous for you, you are to witness, give testimony. Well, I am here to do just that! I just returned from my appt. at UCLA with my liver specialist. As some of you may know already, I have Hep C, which can either turn into cancer of the liver of cirrhosis of the liver. Mine is cirossis (Hep C went undetected for 20 + yrs.). I was told I would need a transplant, there is no treatment. At todays appt. the Dr. comes in and says Deb? and I smiled and said Yes and he says Wow. I didnt even recognize you. You look great! He goes to the computer and then says Hmmm.....you been hanging out with God or what? I laughed and told him God is always with me and I speak with him on a regular basis. The Dr. then tells me Youre not going on a list for transplant. I was worried and then he says Your numbers are incredible. You have to be in liver failure to go on a transplant list. Your liver is functioning normally, so theres no way youd go on a list. He then told me We have a treatment now for Hep C, so lets get rid of it. You wont be needing a new liver Deb. So, lets start the meds to get rid of the Hep C next month, plus a ultrasound and some labs. How about we concentrate on getting you off of dialysis now and get that kidney for you? I was like too thrilled at this news!! He then said Ill be sending an email to your kidney doctor and then to our kidney transplant team here and well get that rolling. Ill see you next month. God is GREAT people! This is truly a miracle. I was facing a dual transplant of liver and kidney and now only 1, just the kidney? Praise God!! I am filled with gratitude beyond words!!
