I have been reminded over and over this week that peace in a fallen world will never be the absence of death, sorrow, addiction, disease, abuse, loss, war and pain, Peace is the presence of God boldly spoken into and over all these things. Jesus said to the storm, Peace be Still! It is only in Gods peace we can dare say, O grave where is your victory and O death where is your sting? It is not that we are strong enough to declare this victory or even that we want to; it is that we must. We declare victory in faith and while we may not yet see or feel Gods peace, we know it is there in Christ. He who swallowed death gives us the victory. We Christians are a relentless lot, we simply refuse to let death have the last word. Death doesnt get the last word. Jesus make sure of that on Easter morning...
