I have been toying with the idea of an Independent Author Professional Code: Something I would put on the review website and have authors come and sign (via comment). Maybe it helps us keep our head on straight as we move forward. Thoughts? 1) I will have my work professionally edited. 2) I will only use copyrighted material for promotions, covers, trailers and content when I have received permission from the rights holder. This includes pictures, music, fonts and written materials. 3) I will not trade nor write reviews with a pre-promised result or expectation. 4) I will expect to compensate providers of products and services, when those products and services further my writing and promoting endeavors. 5) I will aid other Independent/Self Published authors by providing them directions and links to service providers, professional advisors and articles/media that will help them advance their writing efforts. 6) I will not reply to negative reviews. 7) I will make every effort to produce the most professional work and will immediately upgrade and correct my work when issues are found.
