I have been using MSRTC Shivneri Volvo B7Rs past few years on NH4 owing to their exceptional frequency, punctuality, good crew,decent stops,good customer service etc.. but last month I had a surprise when I hopped on a Shivneri again. The bus had free wi-fi onboard whose signal strength was good and I nicely browsed net for 3 hrs from Mumbai to Poona. I had read in news last year that MSRTC will be equipping all Shivneris with wi-fi and I am glad to know they have delivered as promised. Not just this, all Shivneri Volvos have onboard CCTV Cam too. I think MSRTC is the first in the country to go for free wi-fi and cctv in its Volvos although in my homestate KSRTC has wi-fi in only 3 of its variants totalling 6-8 Airavat multiaxle buses-- Bliss,Superia and Flybus. MSRTC Shivneri fares are costly though. However IMHO the best way to shuttle between Mumbai-Pune, Aurangabad-Pune, Kolhapur-Pune, Sangli-Pune would be Shivneri Volvos after our personal vehicles. They rock big time !! But I still hope someday they match up to the standards of STU leader- the superb KSRTC of Karnataka.
