I have chosen an object as my case of study. The object being the telephone. The telephone has revolutionised life in many ways. In the days of my grandparents it was merely used to convey urgent news. The telephone from being only local became intercity, then interstate and then international. And now we are cellular. The famous Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma communicated with the late prime minister Mrs Indira Gandhi from space!! Today the telephone is vital for our daily life. It is a means of communicating news to each other, interacting socially and with the smartphones we have all the information of the world at our fingertips. With severe competition in this field service providers slash down their rates and it is affordable for each and every one today. This has changed life in many ways. For example, earlier drivers used to stand at attention near the car not knowing when they would be needed to drive off but now it is a norm to give them missed calls 10 minutes in advance and the height of it is even the mochis and kabadi walas have phones these days.
