I have come across this 2014 world bank study entitled: The unfinished revolution: bringing opportunity, good jobs, and greater wealth to ALL Tunisians (my emphasis). At 336 pages, it is a hefty, and dense document, but it makes very interesting reading. The causes that ail Tunisia are not terrorism which is mentioned once (referring to an act in Djerba in 2002) or Islamism. The causes are corruption, born of cronyism, (which according to the report have not changed since ZABA times), and regional disparities in opportunities, coupled with an archaic business regulation system. My question: What is the likelihood that a NIDA government will institute reforms? Would BCE move against his buddies in the banking system to clean up the corrupt lending practices? Would he move to collect on loans that are in default to his oligarch backers? Would he purge his former colleagues in ministries such as Interior, Justice, and Defense, who are, by most accounts, the root of the rot and corruption in the public sector? I somehow doubt it. www-wds.worldbank.org/external/default/WDSContentServer/WDSP/IB/2014/09/16/000456286_20140916144712/Rendered/PDF/861790DPR0P12800Box385314B00PUBLIC0.pdf
