I have come in contact with three loose dogs (on three separate occassions) in my neighborhood while walking my dogs. Fortunately, none of them were agressive, even though two of them came charging at us and scaring us to death. However, while walking my dogs this morning we witnessed a loose dog attack and kill a cat in front of the cats owners (which included young children). My heart breaks for the family. It makes me worry about safety when walking my dogs. Do any of you carry anything with you while walking your dogs, or have any strategies for how to keep my dogs safe? From mow on I will carry my cell phone and report loose dogs to the police.
