I have decided to run for the school board. It has been something I have considered in the past, and I feel I finally have the time to commit. My main goals, should i be elected, are Funding and Accountability. Understanding how a public school is funded can be tricky business. I want to know where the schools funds are coming from, or why they arent, how the funds are being spent, and how it can be used more efficiently. This will include looking into additional funds via grants, or possible new programs. Accountability is an important aspect in the overall functionality of a school. I feel the school board needs to be accountable to the community, as well as the staff and students. The staff needs to be accountable for their actions and productivity. They also need to be praised and credited for their achievements. The students need to be honored and encouraged not only for their academic excellence, but for their achievements amongst the community. Promoting positive behavior while managing the negative behavior. If you would be so kind as to sign my petition, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
