I have deleted several of our posts that relate to the Tasing incident that occurred early Monday morning and that resulted in a mans death. The reason they were deleted was because I dont consider them to have been constructive in reporting or investigating this unfortunate incident. The family of the deceased man is understandably upset and one could expect them to be very emotional about his death--as I probably would be in their circumstances. Macario Cisnero Garcias death will be investigated by Texas Rangers and there will be an autopsy that should shed some light on how and why he died. Beyond that I will try to report this story as impartially and fairly as possible--recognizing that some may feel I am leaning one way or another in reporting it. I am not. The family suggests excessive force was used. I dont know if it was or not, but I will report that they say that. The Sheriffs Office says procedure apparently was followed. That is for the investigation to determine in either case, but in all my years I have dabbled in journalism I have always tried to stick to the facts--not what I think happened or want to believe happened or didnt happen. People make mistakes. It happens. The results can be calamitous. For the sake of all who are affected by this unfortunate incident, I hope it can be resolved to the satisfaction of most if not all of us. For anyone who chooses to post on this page I would ask that you watch your language and that you be as considerate of other people as you would want them to be of you. I do not use profanity when I broadcast or when I post on this page, and some posts have gone beyond profanity. I can make some allowances for emotion, but I can also assure you that emotional or not, I do not use either profanity or obscenity in what I say or what I post. Doing so would reflect on me and I have too much self-respect to allow such a public reflection on myself. Thank you for being considerate.
