I have driven 200 miles today almost to the exact number. Met a wonderful group of dentists out in Baymeadows and they actually sat and listened to all I had to say about Lilys previous experiences with some traumatic dentistry that involved screaming , biting and pinning her down in an attempt to just clean and check her teeth . Dr Cochran specializes in special needs children and he took extra extra amount of time to chit chat with Lily and explain everything to her that he needed to do with so much kindness and did not rush her on anything . We discussed the next step for xray , an actual deep cleaning and repairing a chipped tooth on a molar and that using IV sedation will be the easiest , non traumatic plan of treatment . An Anesthesiologist will be taking care of the sedation portion of the sedation along with a nurse and then the dentist and hygienist as well . Lily has never had any type of sedation so I WILL BE A FUN BASKET OF CRAZY next week without a doubt . Now the $$$ comes into play and I am given the paperwork to look over and I see $5000 just for the sedation , instantly I start getting teary eyed about how I will have to not be able to go on the end of the year band trip with Gracee that totals up at $1400 . So I sit and keep reading and filing out this fact and that date of birth..blah..blah until the kindest lady popped up and handed me a pamphlet about this Humanitarian organization that helps families in these situation. My insurance will cover $2500 and then this organization picks up the remaining balance $2500 so that means no money will be needed from me. I cried in this ladies office and she came over and hugged me asked what was wrong and I told her what was going to be sacrificed for Lily to have her surgery . She held me and giggled its alright Mrs Kidd I just sent over the request for financing for Lilys procedure and I expect to hear from them by thursday at the earliest or friday morning at the latest . That has taken a HUGE lift off of my shoulders for real . She also informed me that even if my insurance only covers a small portion of the $5000 whatever remains will be picked up by this great organization . Just wonderful to know that there still are good people that are honestly trying to help someone have great teeth health with no reward for themselves in the end . Long day and my brain is PUUOOOPFFF !!
