I have enjoyed seeing the I am so RI post all weekend so I am finally at a computer that I can type normal at...so here it goes. I am so RI.... I remember riding my bike up to the Ice Creamery before Whiteys came to town in RI. Near location of Whiteys. My mom actually worked there. Schneiders Drug store on 38th and 18th. He allowed me to put my moms big surprise bday present on layaway when I was only 11 and had a paper route. Every week I put money down on that BIG purchase. Tobo the Clown who was the fire prevention clown during FIre Prevention week. RI Fire Dept. lead the way with him. (Plus I knew him personally) The nursery on 38th street call Platts. It is now a vacant lot. The gift store called Maries on 38th Street now the home of Claire South. Dead Mans hill that Missy King Bachus flipped over her handle bars of her bike one time. Glad they smoothed that over. Longview Pool Olympic style pool with 5am Swim practice and it wasnt heated....YIKES Denkmann Indians not Denkmann Timberwolves Geifman Grocery Store that gave me S&H Green stamps that I would redeem in the basement of McCabes Dept. Store so I could eat the delicious Mac & Cheese on the Mezannie (SP) and then out the back door across the alley into Woolworths to have a REAL Cherry coke. Zayre that turned into the Bargin Bin now soon to be Wal-Mart..ha Haag Drug store where CVS is now Playing outside till the street lights came on and spending hours trying to spin myself fully around in the wooden barrel at Hodge Park. 90% Angels and 10% Devils....only a few will get that one. Loading up a pickup truck full of kids to a long road trip for basketball games in Quincy. Actually FILLING the RockGarden with people to people with out a spare seat to be found. Kids at RIHS nowadays have no clue how it used to be. If you dont think I could go on and on you are mistaken. I however, do not have the trinkets and such that Kim Logan has shown us. WOW she is so RI and lives in Naperville.
