I have found that my firms annual financial report fails to adequately articulate in detail the key challenges that the business has faced in the recent financial year that have attributed to its failure to perform versus expectations. Instead, it chooses to focus more on positive aspects of the business as well as the reasons why the group believes their performance will be stronger in the future. Given the group has a share value to protect this approach is not entirely unsurprising, however it is frustrating when you are particularly interested in attempting to understand this aspect of business. Has anyone else come across this in their annual reports?
