I have friends whom I still consider friends even though sometimes they disappoint me by reducing a whole culture like Islam to a 2 dimensional cliche. I do agree that Islamic terrorists make it easier and easier for anti Islamic bigots to justify their position with every new outrageous mass murder committed by IS, Boko Haram, the Taliban, Al Qaeda or some individual crazy bastard like the one in the Lindt cafe siege. But do our intelligent friends really want to hitch up their wagons to a philosophical position which is as equally hateful as that of the terrorists? I consider myself to be fortunate in having a reasonable standard of intelligence. I can look at a complicated question and most of the the time I can work through the intricacies and settle on a balanced understanding. Some speakers knock me out with their ability to express complex concepts while engaging in a debate. This gentleman sounds like he has a brain that works about 18 times more efficiently than mine.
